The Sewing Room Book is a gift made for a seamstress friend.  Starting with a plain unfinished wood "book" found in Michael's Craft Shop, the book was sanded and painted.  The lettering was stenciled using silver stencil cream. The edge of the book was antiqued to give dimension to the look of real pages.  This was done by first applying cream colored paint for the pages.  When that was dry, tan paint was applied and wiped it off with a rag, being sure to leave the paint in the grooves.  When all the paint was dry, a coat of polyurethane sealed the outside.

The inside is filled with all the items you would normally see in a sewing room.
